Visit Truckee-Tahoe (VTT) is seeking applicants for an At-Large seat on its Board of Directors and invites leaders from Truckee businesses and organizations that benefit from visitor spending to apply.

The At-Large Director position provides an opportunity to help guide the future of Truckee's visitor economy while supporting Visit Truckee-Tahoe's mission to promote, protect and enhance Truckee as an authentic mountain town.

Tourism continues to play a significant role in Truckee's economy. According to the recently released Economic Impact of Travel Report, visitors spent $246.1 million in Truckee during 2025, supporting approximately 1,670 local jobs and generating $19.2 million in state and local tax revenue. Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) remains the Town of Truckee's third largest revenue source of which 10% generates ongoing funding for general Town services, while the 2% Measure K increase (approved by voters in 2020) provides dedicated funding for affordable and achievable housing, open space preservation and wildfire mitigation. Overnight visitors accounted for nearly 85% of all visitor spending, benefiting a wide range of local businesses throughout the community.

While Visit Truckee-Tahoe is funded through Truckee's Tourism Business Improvement District, the organization recognizes that tourism's impact extends far beyond lodging properties. Restaurants, retailers, recreation providers, cultural organizations, transportation services, and many other local businesses all contribute to and benefit from a healthy visitor economy.

In addition to destination marketing, Visit Truckee-Tahoe works with local businesses, public agencies, nonprofits, and community partners on initiatives related to responsible recreation, transportation, visitor education, and destination stewardship. The organization's work is designed to help balance economic vitality with community and environmental well-being.

"The At-Large seat brings an important perspective to our Board," said Kerrie Racicot, Chair of the Visit Truckee-Tahoe Board of Directors. "We're looking for someone who understands the connection between tourism, local businesses, and community vitality. This is an opportunity to help shape how we balance economic strength, environmental stewardship, and the authentic mountain town character that makes Truckee such a special place."

The selected candidate will serve a three-year term and join a Board of Directors responsible for providing strategic direction, governance, and oversight for Visit Truckee-Tahoe. Board members work collaboratively to support responsible tourism, destination stewardship, economic vitality, and initiatives that benefit both residents and visitors.

Qualified applicants should be affiliated with a business, organization, or sector that benefits from visitor spending and contributes to Truckee's visitor experience. Experience in business leadership, nonprofit governance, public service, tourism, outdoor recreation, hospitality, sustainability, marketing, finance, or community engagement is welcomed.

Applications will be accepted through July 31, 2026.
