Interested in experiencing Truckee firsthand for an upcoming story? We invite qualified journalists, freelancers, content creators, and media representatives to submit a request for a hosted visit.

Visit Truckee-Tahoe offers limited media support based on story angle, audience reach, assignment status, and seasonal availability. We prioritize coverage that aligns with our destination values, including sustainability, stewardship, and authentic mountain culture.

Qualification Criteria

To be considered for media hosting, applicants must meet one or more of the following criteria:

• Confirmed Assignment: You are on assignment with a recognized media outlet (print, digital, radio, or broadcast) with documented editorial interest.
• Freelance Journalists: You have a verifiable history of published work with reputable outlets and can provide a clear pitch and target publication.
• Digital Content Creators/Influencers:
  • Minimum of 10,000 followers on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or Facebook
  • Engagement rate of 2% or higher
  • Content must be travel-focused, professionally presented, and aligned with Truckee’s destination values
• Media Outlets or Production Crews: You represent a publication, website, or program with significant regional or national reach.
• Travel Trade or PR Professionals: You are affiliated with a tour operator, travel agency, or PR firm producing destination content with editorial relevance.

Please Note:

• Priority is given to coverage that supports sustainable travel, responsible recreation, and off-peak visitation.
• Hosting may include lodging, experiences, and/or itinerary planning, but is not guaranteed.
• All arrangements are subject to availability, seasonality, and alignment with VTT’s media strategy.
