Live music and summer go together like lemonade and sunshine. And in Truckee, there’s no better way to finish a day of mountain biking, fly fishing, or hiking than with a refreshing local IPA and listening to songs filling the mountain air. On weekends, you’ll find local bars, restaurants, and breweries hosting live music. And throughout the week, here’s the line-up of live music Truckee events where you can take in tunes for FREE all summer long.

Tuesdays
Bluesdays At Palisades Tahoe
View schedule and information
When: Every Tuesday June 20th – August 29th
There’s something electric about blues music outdoors. That unpredictability of where the song is going and the energy of each strum of the guitar. It’s like mountain weather if it were music. The juke joint style comes to the Village every Tuesday or “Bluesday” from 6 pm to 8:30 pm. Enjoy a frosty pint, a tasty merlot, or even a gin on ice as you immerse yourself in the rhythm of blues. Since this is a popular event, be sure to bring your own low back chair because seating is limited.
Wednesdays
Music In The Park
View schedule and information
When: Every Wednesday June 21st – August 30th
On Wednesdays, it’s time to venture over to the “Salty” Gebhard Pavilion in the Truckee River Regional Park. Not just a free live music Truckee event but a community gathering. Every week, the music lineup changes and may include anything from bluegrass to country and even 80s/90s/00s classics. This is a popular event. Instead of driving, consider riding your bike. To make it easy, a free bike valet will be set up at the tennis courts. Outside food is welcome, but to ensure everyone has a good time, glass, dogs and smoking are not allowed. Shows run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Thursdays
Truckee Thursdays
View schedule and information
When: Every Thursday June 22nd – August 10th
In the summer of ‘08, the downtown merchants association launched a weekly Thursday gathering to get a taste of Truckee’s community. The goal was to introduce both residents and visitors to local shops, sample food, showcase art, listen to live music and more in the heart of downtown. What started with only a few hundred has grown to thousands of weekly visitors, making it THE weekly event of the summer. Due to its popularity, we recommend taking our free shuttles, or better yet, ride your bike.
Fridays
Music On The Beach
View schedule and information
When: Every Friday June 16th – September 1st (Excluding August 11th)
Take a fantastic voyage to Kings Beach for live music with Lake Tahoe as a backdrop. From 6 to 8:30 pm, dance the evening away while enjoying wine from Truckee River Winery and beer from Alibi Ale Works. And if you’re hungry, local vendors will be serving up a variety of tasty options for you to enjoy.
