Meet Logan Talbott

Guiding adventure, confidence and respect for the mountains.

After guiding in some of the world's greatest mountain ranges, Logan still believes some of the best adventures begin right here in Truckee Tahoe.

The Mountains Called

When Logan Talbott moved to Truckee in 2006, he came for a mountain guiding job and the lifestyle that came with it.

Nearly two decades later, he's still here.

What began as a career in guiding became something much bigger: a life built around the Sierra, a family rooted in the mountains, and a community that shares his passion for human-powered adventure.

Even after guiding in mountain ranges around the world, Logan continues to call Truckee Tahoe home.

Because for him, there isn't another place quite like it.

I came to Truckee for the mountain vibe. What kept me here was the rare combination of incredible terrain and a community that genuinely cares about this place."

We share meaningful outdoor adventures that help people fall in love with the mountains responsibly.

More Than a Guide

As Chief Guide and Director of Operations at Alpenglow Expeditions, Logan helps people experience the Sierra through climbing, hiking, backpacking, skiing and mountaineering.

But reaching a summit has never been the ultimate goal. His mission is to help people build the confidence, skills and respect that transform an outdoor adventure into a lifelong connection with the mountains.

Whether it's someone's first climb or their first backcountry ski tour, Logan believes responsible recreation begins with understanding the landscape, preparing well and embracing the journey.

For Logan, every day in the mountains is an opportunity to help someone discover what makes this place so extraordinary.

A Commitment Beyond the Trail

For Logan, guiding doesn't end when the trip is over.

For more than a decade, he's volunteered with Tahoe Nordic Search & Rescue, responding to wilderness emergencies and helping educate visitors and locals about backcountry safety.

The connection between the two is simple. The more people understand how to prepare, navigate and recreate responsibly, the fewer preventable incidents occur—and the more everyone can enjoy these mountains safely.

His work reflects a belief that education isn't just about safety. It's one of the best ways to care for the places we love.

What I Hope You Leave With

Confidence to Explore

Whether it's your first hike, your first climb or your first backcountry adventure, Logan hopes every visitor leaves with a deeper appreciation for the mountains—and the confidence to enjoy them responsibly for years to come.

Why Logan Chooses Truckee Tahoe

Logan could live and guide almost anywhere in the world.

He chooses Truckee Tahoe.

Not because it's the biggest mountain range or the most famous. But because few places offer this combination of world-class terrain, everyday adventure, and a community that lives and breathes the outdoors.
