With skiing and riding right around the corner in November, now is the time to get your pass and plan an early winter visit to Truckee for uncrowded slopes. Join the fall party at Tahoe Mountain Life with Howler Brothers! The store will be staying open late with FREE whiskey tastings from Frey Ranch, live music from Wild Ginger Duet, and in-store discounts all night.
Enjoy an evening of visionary speakers, live music, culture, and delicious fare from the Tahoe Food Hub and Mountain Lotus Provisions, as we explore food system transformation through agroecology. Featured guests include renowned author and activist, Anna Lappe, Indigenous seed steward, Rowan White, Washoe Warrior Elder Frank Grayshield and WGZT Board Member Dr. Lisa Grayshield, as well as Sacred Songs sharing from Washoe Spiritual Leaders. This is a fundraising event for the Tahoe Food Hub and WGZT. Tickets are $10 and include one drink ticket and appetizers.
The Village at Palisades Tahoe transforms into the largest Bavarian playground in North Lake Tahoe, complete with authentic German beer and Bavarian music and dance, plus the ever-popular Oktoberfest Games and plenty of family fun. Enjoy live entertainment by Joe Smiell's 20 Piece Bavarian Band, the Almenrausch Schuhplattler Dance Troupe and Alpentanzer Schuhplattler Dance Troupe, accompanied by the Alpentanz Kapelle Band throughout the day. Authentic Brats, Pretzels, Swiss Slices and traditional European dessert/pastries to include apple strudel & nussgipfel, plus Root Beer Floats for the kids will be available for purchase.

Grab your costume and get in the spooky spirit before Oct 31st in downtown Truckee! This family-friendly event is an October highlight for visitors and residents alike. Trick-Or-Treat at downtown Truckee businesses and then head to the Community Arts Center for more candy and fun Halloween themed doors. Parade leaves the Truckee train station at 6pm sharp and cruises through downtown Truckee to the Community Arts Center.

Boogie down to the outdoor stage in Historic Downtown Truckee this fall for a FREE concert series in the mountain air! Truckee Donner Recreation and Park District and the Tahoe Truckee School of Music present Music in the Downtown Park, a community gathering with great music on alternating Wednesdays from September 6 - November 15 at the Downtown Park adjacent to the Community Art Center. Please note, no smoking and no dogs.

Big Blue Adventure produces events and races - 5k, 10k, half marathon, mountain bike race, adventure race, open water swim, triathlon and more - in Lake Tahoe, Truckee, Olympic Valley and the surrounding Sierra Nevada. Their competitions offer options for all ages and skill levels, and pricing varies per event with savings available for active military, youth/students, and seniors.
Race from Truckee to Tahoe City! The Great Trail Race is a point to point route open for participants to mountain bike or trail run. Choose one of two course options, Elite or Classic. The Elite course adds in more technically challenging terrain and distance.
Truckee's signature gravel race returns on June 29th, 2024! Choose from three scenic and challenging course options in the Tahoe National Forest: Long (75.5 miles, 6,797'), Medium (54 miles, 4,148'), and Untimed (19 miles, 1,193'). Plus, this year the race will offer bonus rides and pre/post event activities with pro gravel riders from Thursday, June 17 to Sunday, June 30th.
Truckee Tahoe Gravel sells out every year so register early. Registration is OPEN now! And book Truckee lodging early to secure your trip while availability and rates are good. Stay for the long weekend and get in on all the event fun, and consider extending your stay to explore all that Truckee has to offer - a quaint Historic Downtown, endless gravel riding, shopping, dining, craft breweries, and much more!
Located just five minutes from Downtown Truckee on the east end of Donner Lake, Donner Memorial State Park is open year-round and offers weekly, drop-in interpretive programs where you can learn about the natural and cultural history of the Truckee-Tahoe region. In the winter, check out their guided snowshoe tours, and in the summer, they offer guided paddling tours, mountain bike tours, junior ranger programs, historical tours, campfire talks, and park cleanups.

Learn about Truckee-Tahoe's rich natural and cultural history at the monthly Sierra Speaker Series. Doors open at 5pm, and the presentation is to follow at 5:30pm. Admission is a suggested $5 donation. Light refreshments will be available. Parking is free after 5 pm. No registration required.
Explore the history of the area and the people who came into this part of the Sierra, including local Native Americans, the Donner Party, and builders of the transcontinental railroad. Visitors can expect to spend about one hour exploring exhibits.
