What do you do when things go wrong in the backcountry? The Rescue—the third event in the Avalanche Education Series from Tahoe Mountain Sports and Alibi Ale Works—dives into the reality of accidents and what it takes to be prepared for a rescue.
Learn firsthand what it’s like to be caught in an avalanche and how professional search and rescue operations unfold. Speakers will discuss avalanche safety, beacon use, shovel and probe techniques, and how to improve your odds in the critical minutes after a slide. You’ll also get the latest insights on communication and navigation tools that can support your safety in the field.
Speakers include:
Doors open at 6:00pm—come early to grab a beer and snacks before the presentation starts at 6:30pm. There will also be a huge raffle benefiting Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescue, with prizes from Ortovox, Black Diamond, Flylow, Patagonia, Smartwool, Garmin, and more.
