Western States Endurance Run

The legendary Western States Endurance Run returns to Olympic Valley, bringing more than 350 runners from around the world to the start line at Palisades Tahoe.

Widely considered one of the most prestigious ultramarathons in the world, Western States sends athletes on a 100.2-mile journey from Olympic Valley to Auburn. The course begins with a steep climb from the base area to Emigrant Pass before crossing rugged Sierra terrain, high alpine ridgelines, remote backcountry trails, river canyons, and historic Gold Rush-era pathways.

Spectators can catch the early morning start at Palisades Tahoe or ride the Aerial Tram to High Camp for a unique view as runners crest the mountain shortly after the race begins.
