Kick off winter with “The Basics,” the first in a four-part avalanche education series hosted by Tahoe Mountain Sports and Alibi Ale Works. Designed as a backcountry basics refresher, this free event covers everything you need to know to start your season off right—how to plan for a successful day in the mountains, what gear you’ll need, and what it means to be a good partner in the backcountry.
Speakers include:
Doors open at 6:00pm—arrive early to grab a beer and settle in. The formal presentation begins at 6:30pm. Don’t miss the huge raffle benefiting the Sierra Avalanche Center, Tahoe’s local avalanche resource center, with prizes from outdoor brands like Black Diamond, Flylow, Smartwool, and more.
Whether you’re a seasoned skier or new to the backcountry, this event offers valuable insights, community connection, and a great excuse to raise a pint to snow season.
