The right partners can make all the difference between a safe, fun day in the backcountry and one that goes sideways. Partner Up wraps up the Avalanche Education Series from Tahoe Mountain Sports and Alibi Ale Works, focusing on the human side of avalanche safety and how to build better backcountry partnerships.
This isn’t a sit-back-and-listen lecture—it’s an interactive night designed to help you connect with potential touring partners in a structured, meaningful way. Think of it as “speed dating for the backcountry.” Attendees will rotate through quick conversations to share skill levels, experience, and goals, while learning how to assess communication styles, risk tolerance, and decision-making approaches for safer days in the mountains.
Everyone who attends will receive a temporary membership to SlabLab’s partner-finding network, so you can reconnect with people you meet without sharing personal contact info on the spot.
Doors open at 6:00pm—arrive early to grab a beer and snacks before the presentation begins at 6:30pm. A raffle benefiting a local nonprofit will feature prizes from Ortovox, Flylow, Smartwool, PT Revolution, Dynafit, Black Diamond, Skida, Rab, and more.
