Connecting with Truckee's Independent STR Operators

A new way to share insights, stay informed and stay connected

Independent STR operators play a meaningful role in Truckee’s tourism economy and the overall fabric of our community. The way you host, manage your home, and interact with guests directly shapes the visitor experience—and, in turn, how Truckee shows up as a destination.

At Visit Truckee-Tahoe, our role is to promote, protect, and enhance Truckee as an authentic mountain town. That includes supporting the people who make overnight stays possible.

We’ve heard there’s interest in more direct communication, clearer insights, and opportunities to connect—not just with us, but with each other.

So, we’re creating a simple starting point: a twice-yearly gathering for independent homeowners.

These meetings are designed to:

  • Share updates on tourism trends, marketing efforts, and local initiatives
  • Provide context on what we’re seeing across the lodging landscape
  • Offer space for questions, feedback, and open discussion
  • Build stronger connections across the homeowner community

We know schedules and preferences vary. Some of you would rather meet in person, others may prefer a virtual option. Take our short survey to help shape how these gatherings come together.
