Drew Taylor, one of the 1st employees at the San Diego coffee roaster, became instrumental in shaping Dark Horse's success. With the backing of founder Daniel Charleson, they established the Dark Horse Truckee location. After a harrowing fall down Switzerland's notorious Bec de Rosses slope during a Freeride World Tour event, pro snowboarder Ralph Backstrom embarked on a new chapter in life. In 2018, Ralph partnered with ski racer Travis Ganong to establish Pacific Crest Coffee. Their meticulous process, from hand-picking beans to crafting the perfect espresso, aims to elevate each cup beyond the last. Rooted in the philosophy that founder and owner Nick Visconti embraced during his days as a globetrotting professional snowboarder. While snowboarding at Saas Fee, a resort village in the Swiss Alps, his fascination with European coffee culture, which utilized coffee as a fuel for an active outdoor lifestyle, took hold. This nomadic lifestyle inspired the birth of a purpose-driven roasting company, uniting exceptional coffee with an exceptional way of life.
