Small Mountain, Big Wins for Families

Tucked just minutes from downtown Truckee, Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Resort is the ultimate local-friendly mountain for beginners, families, and anyone looking to skip the mega-resort vibe. With gentle terrain, short lift lines, and a reputation as “the best place to begin,” it’s where generations of Tahoe kids take their first turns and where parents get to breathe easy.

The resort’s compact size means less navigating and more skiing. With 120 skiable acres, 17 runs, and a full progression of terrain parks, it’s designed to build confidence, not just rack vertical. It's also one of the rare resorts where first-timers and young kids can actually see the whole mountain and feel like they belong on it.

NEW this season - a fully renovated ski lodge will reopen to kick off the 2025/26 season! Designed for comfort and convenience, the newly renovated lodge will feature easy lift access, an enhanced cafeteria and bar, a dedicated kids’ ski school space, ADA-compliant entryways and a spacious sun deck perfect for après-ski relaxation.
