HERE'S THE BREAKDOWN FOR THIS WEEK:

PLACER/NEVADA/SIERRA COUNTIES - Caltrans is reminding motorists of various lane and ramp closures in five locations along Interstate 80 (I-80) as emergency repairs continue in Placer, Nevada , and Sierra counties.

Westbound I-80

  • Location 5 - Between the Nevada state line and Floriston, lane closures will be in place from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday, June 10 and Tuesday, June 11. Work is scheduled to end 7 a.m. Wednesday, June 12.
  • Between Floriston and Hinton Road, lane closures will be in place from 7 p.m. to noon Sunday, June 9 through Thursday, June 13. Work is scheduled to end 10 a.m. Friday, June 14.
  • Location 4 - Between State Route 89 and Donner Lake Vista Point, lane and ramp closures will be in place closed around the clock beginning 7 p.m. Sunday, June 9 through noon Friday, June 14.
  • Location 3 - No emergency repairs anticipated next week.
  • Location 2 - Between Nyack and Blue Canyon, lane closures will be in place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 13.

Eastbound I-80

  • Location 2 - Between Drum Forebay and Emigrant Gap, lane closures will be in place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, June 9 through Thursday, June 13. Additional work is scheduled from 3 a.m. to noon Friday, June 14.
  • Location 3 - Between Big Bend and Rainbow, lane and ramp closures will be in place around the clock beginning 5 a.m. Monday, June 10 through 10 a.m. Friday, June 14.
  • Location 4 - Between Kingvale and Soda Springs, lane and ramp closures will be in place around the clock beginning 7 p.m. Sunday, June 9 through noon Friday, June 14.
  • Between Donner Pass Road and State Route 89, lane closures will be in place around the clock beginning 7 p.m. Sunday, June 9 through noon Friday, June 14.

Crews are scheduled to continue work next week along I-80 between Troy and Soda Springs as part of the $97.2 million Soda Springs Pavement Rehabilitation Project. Lane and ramp closures are scheduled at various times during the day and night. Additional delays are also expected along I-80 between Monte Vista and Drum Forebay as construction begins on the $146.8 million Monte Vista Pavement Rehabilitation Project. Lane and ramp closures are scheduled at various times during the day and night for tree work and striping.

Motorists will experience delays and are encouraged to factor in additional travel times along the I-80 corridor. The schedule is subject to change or be delayed due to weather, availability of materials or other unexpected events.

Local Truckee Roads

The West River Streetscape project is underway. The current ESTIMATE for this project is about 2- 3 months, however, this timeframe may change at any time depending on conflicts encountered.

  • West River roadway is set up as one-way traffic midweek toward the west from Jax Diner as needed until about June 21. The roadway will allow two way traffic from this date until Labor Day during the day, unless night work is occurring. The sidewalk will be finished next week in front of the Red Light Hostel/Heslin Construction area. After this is completed, the sidewalk work will move to the corner of Mill Street and West River Street and work toward the east behind the utility trench. 
  • Night work will operate Monday-Thursday from 6pm - 6am
  • Please note construction will not take place on July 4-7, 2024.
