Drop in at Truckee’s World-Class Fitness Center
There’s a new gym, fitness, and wellness center in town - CAMP 1 Fitness! The 22,000 sqft facility boasts top-rated equipment, reform pilates, group fitness classes, personal training, Kensho Human Performance Lab, Himalayan salt sauna, kids club, and a year-round outdoor arena.
Two Stories High! Indoor Rock Climbing Gym
High Altitude Fitness, Truckee’s new indoor climbing gym, offers 12,000 sqft of climbing with lead and sport routes, bouldering problems, six auto-belays, campus and kilter board, and gear rentals. There are also 52 pieces of cardio equipment, 10 Olympic weight lifting stations, a fitness room, free weights room, and three group fitness studios. Lobby workstations with fiber internet make this a great spot for folks working remotely. One membership gives you access to two locations - Truckee and Incline Village.

Down the charming staircase at the entrance of Word After Word Books, you’ll find Truckee’s new record store, Rock Cellar Records. This cozy, tucked away spot has new vinyl in every category, used and collectible records, turntables, and a curated selection of books about music/musicians.

The ground level of the Historic Truckee Mercantile Building is home to Truckee’s beloved local independent bookstore, Word After Word Books. The vibrant space carries curated titles from local Truckee-Tahoe authors, regional and history books about the area, bestsellers, and favorite staff picks.
Adult Swim or Kids Lazy River at Community Pool
Visiting Truckee in winter or summer? Pack a swimsuit! Established in 2016, Truckee’s beloved community swimming pool offers an indoor lap pool with 10 lanes, 25 yards in length, and a kids recreation pool with a lazy, winding river and slide. This local’s favorite spot is a great place for a low-impact workout or splashing around with little ones. Open Monday-Friday.
Movie, Popcorn, and A Big Screen!
Two movie theaters offer multiple showtimes for major motion pictures and independent films. Have yourself a “dinner and movie” date night or an evening of family fun with kiddos.

Travel Back in Time at the Museum of Truckee History
Located in the east end of the Truckee Train Station, this new museum houses furnishings and original items from the old train depot and various historical displays of major stories in Truckee history: Truckee’s Chinese, logging and lumbering, Native Americans, the Ice Industry, Boca Beer, Charles F. McGlashan’s Vision, 1960 Olympics, and trains. Open weekends, 11 am - 5 pm.
