Why rush through a quick weekend trip to Truckee-Tahoe when you could join the Anywhere Movement and spend a week or more exploring? Consider a midweek visit for an uncrowded experience and add a workday (or two!) onto either end of your trip to extend your stay.

Join Truckee's community of co-workers.

When you need to get out of the house or escape the bustle of coffee shops and restaurants, visit a co-working space. These beautiful shared offices offer a quiet, focused setting to minimize distractions in an open floor design that bucks the lonely cubicle. Most also have amenities like phone booths, conference rooms, and printing services that you might need during your workday.

Truckee co-working spaces include:

  • Lift Workspace: a large workspace with phone booths and conference rooms that can be reserved by the hour for day use. Visitors are welcome to call 530-536-0655 to inquire. If you’re a frequent Truckee-Tahoe visitor, consider a Lift Workspace membership and join their community of mountain professionals.
  • The Hub: a free to the public workspace that provides the flexibility to work, socialize, and play in the beautiful Tahoe-Truckee region. Three Hub locations - Downtown Truckee (10396 Donner Pass Road), Old Greenwood, and Northstar - provide an inviting atmosphere, complimentary wifi, and opportunity for collaboration and networking.
  • Alpine Meadows Mill: an open-concept workspace housed in a former ski shop with floor-to-ceiling windows, an abundance of natural light, dining options nearby for coffee and lunch, and access to skiing, mountain biking, and trail running out the door. Located 15 minutes from Truckee near Palisades Tahoe.

Work from your hotel room or lodge lobby.

Working during your vacation is easy and convenient at one of Truckee’s hotels or lodges, plus you’ll have adventure at your fingertips!

Make the outdoors your office.

The best kind of office can’t be confined by four walls! Truckee's Mountain home rentals have spacious decks or patios that come equipped with outdoor furniture, so you can enjoy the fresh mountain air without ever leaving the comfort of your cozy accommodations.

If you're using a hotspot for wifi, your office can be virtually anywhere! The Tahoe National Forest and Donner Lake have plenty of scenic picnic areas, docks, and beaches to set up and enjoy your workday in the open air. Just remember to Leave No Trace!

Take an active break & get outside.

Want to know a local’s secret to staying productive? It’s to make the most of your lunch break and go for a run, hike or ride. For those that want a grounding and relaxing reset, spend 20 minutes forest bathing and soak up all the sights and sounds of nature. There are endless opportunities to stretch your legs and unplug from your devices on an active rest break. It’s our secret to avoiding the afternoon slump!
